Liverpool make cash available for potential signing of forward with £368m release clause

Liverpool are reported to have made sufficient funds available for the possible signing of Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona in this summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp had no shortage of firepower in his attack last season with the likes of Roberto Firminio, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane still at his disposal.

But with Manchester City still in their sights for next season, the Liverpool boss might view the option of recruiting a player with the quality of Ousmane Dembele as a golden opportunity.

As a result, an exclusive report by 90min has claimed the club has ensured enough funds are available for the signing of the Barcelona star if necessary.

The only stumbling block for the Reds in chasing Dembele would be the forward’s astronomical release clause of £368m, as per journalist Juliet Bawuah, which was added to his contract in 2017 to drive away any potential suitors.

The France international was troubled by injuries in La Liga last season but Dembele, when in action, has shown why Barcelona picked him as the replacement for Neymar, who left the Camp Nou for PSG two years ago.
