Injury blow for Everton as key 25-year-old could miss West Ham trip

Everton have a concern over the condition of Lucas Digne who is now considered to be a doubt for the match against West Ham on Saturday, as claimed by the Liverpool Echo.

The French defender came back to Finch Farm over the weekend with a thigh injury from the international break, and he could now miss the trip to the London Stadium.

Digne was expected to be added to the squad named by Didier Deschamps which managed to thrash Moldova 4-1 on Friday, but the knock which he picked up in training forced him to sit out the fixture.

Everton are still pushing for a finish in the top half of the Premier League table and with a few tricky fixtures to come, the absence of the 25-year-old could prove to be vital.

Should Digne fail to recover from the injury in time, Marco Silva would have to call upon Leighton Baines again, who has returned after sitting out five games due to a rib injury.
