Wolves to make push to sign 28-year-old in hot form

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Argentine forward Emiliano Sala in January, according to reports.

Nantes striker Sala, 28, has scored 11 times in 12 Ligue 1 matches this season and is also said to be on the radar of Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham United.

Palace are even said to be ready to make a £15million move for the lanky striker, who has impressed in France since joining Bordeaux in 2012.

Wolves’ need for additional firepower is obvious given their lack of goals in the Premier League this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo has watched his team miss a bucketload of chances to register just 12 goals in their opening 12 fixtures.

Star striker Raul Jimenez has played an active role in eight of those 12 strikes (three goals, five assists) but Nuno is keen to secure some support for the Mexican.

Sala joined Nantes in the summer of 2015 and has fired 47 goals in 120 appearances to date.
