On Sunday night, Premier League champions Manchester City ensured that they returned to the top of the Premier League table in remarkable fashion by putting six goals past Chelsea at the Etihad stadium.
In fact, within half an hour of the game, City were already the victors as they scored four goals in quick-fire style to kill off any form of fight that Chelsea had coming.
The first half performance from the Blues was one which stunned much of the football world, even though it came only two weeks after a humbling 4-0 defeat at AFC Bournemouth.
The Sky Sports studio were definitely not impressed by what they saw from Sarri’s side and leading the charge in criticizing the Blues with no mercy was former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher.
Arsenal are one particular team who have been mauled by fellow big clubs in recent times and Carragher pointed out the fact that Chelsea’s big defeats are now making them look like the Gunners at their worst.
“City outstanding. I had called a couple of Chelsea performances a disgrace going into this game, this is as bad as anything. Those two results are Arsenal and Bournemouth.” the Sky Sports pundit said
“And I think looking at Sarri, it’s only obviously just over half-way into his first season but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he’s turned Chelsea into the new Arsenal, that Arsenal team who used to just get battered for the last seven eight years away from home in big games because they were just too weak.
“You never used to say that about Chelsea.”
