Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has concluded that Everton and Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso is vastly unlikely to be a success if he does complete a move to the Premier League this summer.
Both Spurs and Everton have holes to fill in midfield ahead of next term and the Spanish top flight has become a shopping market for most Premier League clubs.
The fact that the English first division is now generating higher than usual amounts of revenue means there will be money to be spent by just about every team who is in the Premier League this summer.
Tottenham and Everton have both been linked with an approach to sign the midfielder (Mundo Deportivo), who has been a real star for Real Betis over the past season in Spain.
But while speaking on ESPN, former Liverpool star Steve Nicol, who is now a pundit, has suggested that Lo Celso is a player who is not built to thrive in the Premier League.
“This guy’s a nice player to watch. He’s got a nice left foot, he plays some nice passes, he scores some nice goals. But this guy is not cut out for the Premier League,” Nicol told ESPN
“Physically and mentally, I don’t see how he’s tough enough or strong enough to play a (single) season. He is absolutely not the answer in the middle of the field.”
