‘He will go to Spurs’: Mills expects winger to complete Tottenham move

Sky Sports pundit and former footballer Danny Mills has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are the club who are likely to secure the signing of Fulham’s most valuable asset after their relegation from the Premier League.

During last summer, several young talents were rumoured to be on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino, who ended up not signing any players at all when the transfer window was closed.

Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon has often been deemed as a player whom Tottenham are actively pursuing, especially after last year’s failed attempt to sign him.

The Daily Mail have recently claimed that a £25million deal to bring the player to north London is close this time.

Fulham are valuing him at around £40million but the report suggests that they expect a “middle ground” agreement on the fee eventually.

And talking to Football Insider, Danny Mills was in no doubt about where he thought the talented 18-year-old would end up.

“He will go to Spurs and he will learn from Mauricio Pochettino,” Mills said.

Sessegnon will probably play half the games next season and be a squad player. Would he get in ahead of Son Heung-Min or Lucas Moura? Certainly not at the moment.

“But Tottenham would be a good stage for him and it’ll be the perfect move. He hasn’t been a regular starter for Fulham, so can’t expect to be starting at Tottenham on a regular basis.”
