Manchester City star David Silva will not be playing in the Champions League final, but the Spaniard has picked the side who might have the upper hand in the showdown in Madrid later this week.
Tottenham went into the competition as one of the underdogs and their group stage campaign was a tough one as they were nearly knocked out by Inter Milan right at the death.
Liverpool faced their own close call in the early round of the tournament as they were grouped with the likes Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain, who were later knocked out by Manchester United.
While Jurgen Klopp’s side came back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate against all of the odds, Tottenham had a comeback of their own as three second-half goals saw them beat Ajax on a very dramatic night in Amsterdam.
It might be a tight one, but David Silva believes that the team from Merseyside might just be the favourites.
“In theory, Liverpool are the favourites after the season they’ve had but anything can happen in the game,” Silva told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
“We’ve already seen that this season the Champions League has been a bit crazy; last minute goals, comebacks. Anything can happen.”
